On March 23, the Ukraine national team played a friendly match against Brentford B at the FC "Wimbledon" arena in London and won with a score of 2:0. The game was part of their preparation for their first match in the Euro-2024 qualification tournament — against England.
The emotional state of Ukrainian players ahead of this important meeting was described by Oleksandr Pikhalyonok, a half-back from "Dnipro-1."
"Before the start of qualification, naturally, there is some nervousness. But I think that the 11 players who will be on the field against England will forget about it with the first whistle. Personally, I like the coaching style of our new coach. It's modern football. I believe all the boys are satisfied. So we just need to transfer everything we've worked on onto the football pitch," said Oleksandr Pikhalyonok.
Recall that the Euro-2024 qualification match between England and Ukraine will take place in London on March 26 (kickoff at 19:00 Kyiv time).
