On March 26 in London, the Ukrainian national team will start its seventh Euro qualification campaign with an away match against the current continental vice-champion and England's national team.

Such "gifts" regarding opponents are not new to us. We have already played in one group during major tournament qualifications with the second team of the 1994 World Cup (Italy), the reigning European champion from 1996 (Germany), the World Cup champions from 1998 (France), the European champions from 2004 (Greece), Italy and France as both world champions in 2006, and Spain and Portugal as European champions in 2012. Now this list has been extended by Italy and England (champions and silver medalists of Euro-2020).

Once, in the previous cycle, the Ukrainian national team qualified for the European Championship directly from their group and reached the quarter-finals. Many players currently on the national team roster participated in this achievement. Twice more, blue-and-yellow managed to break through to the knockout stages, one of which also brought pleasant emotions.
