The Ukrainian youth futsal team, under the leadership of Igor Moskvinov, held a training camp from November 20 to 27. During this period, they played an exhibition match against Extra League representative "Energiya" in Lviv.
Experienced futsal players defeated significantly younger colleagues born between 2004 and 2006 by a score of 7-0. However, it is worth noting that the newly appointed youth team coach did not call many leaders of the group to the training camp, including foreign players. As such, there are many debutants in the list.
"We want to see a lot of candidates who can make it into the Ukrainian youth national team. What Malynovskyi, Skychyk and Dyachenko do, I know well. We will be looking at those who can help strengthen our team. As for foreign players, we will soon hold another training camp dedicated specifically to working with boys playing in foreign leagues. Of course, other players will also join the squad," — Igor Moskvinov noted before the training camp.

Recall that on November 3, the draw for the preliminary and main rounds of Euro-2023 (U-19) futsal qualification took place. According to its results, the Ukrainian youth national team was placed in Group 2 of the main round, where they will face Romania, Serbia, and the winner of Group V from the preliminary round (Montenegro, San Marino, Gibraltar). The mini-tournament will be hosted by Serbia.
The final tournament of Euro-2022/2023 futsal among under-19s was held in Poreč (Croatia). Besides the hosts, Croatia, seven national teams will participate, who will be known after the second qualification round that will end by March 26, 2023. The format of the final tournament remains the same: eight participants will play in two groups of four teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals.
The inaugural European Championship for under-19 futsal was held in 2019 in Rijeka, and the second edition took place in Hain (Germany) in 2022 — both times (2019, 2022) Spain's team emerged as champions. The second championship was initially planned for 2021 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ukrainian team participated in both final tournaments. In 2019, Vitaliy Odegov's wards finished third in their group, while in 2022 they were eliminated in the semifinals.
