Main coach of Ukraine's youth national team, Ruslan Rotan, has announced the list of players called up for a November training camp and commented on his selection for the press service of the UAF.
As part of preparation for the 2023 UEFA European Championship (U-21), Ukraine's youth national team will hold a training camp in Georgia from November 15 to 22 during which they will play two friendly matches.
On November 19, the players of Ruslan Rotan will face Israel's youth national team, and on November 21 — Georgia's youth national team. Both matches at Tbilisi Sea Technical Center Stadium start at 3 p.m. local time (1 p.m. Kyiv time). It should be noted that both opponents of the blue-and-yellow are also participants in the 2023 UEFA European Championship (U-21): Georgia as hosts, and Israel overcame qualification by defeating Poland, Hungary (in their group), and Ireland (in the playoffs).
“Organizing this camp was not easy because of the ongoing Ukrainian league championship,” said Ruslan Petrovich. “We tried to focus on our foreign-based players, as well as those who have played little in their clubs, understanding that they each have tournament commitments. We will have an opportunity to see some candidates we've been tracking for a while now. It's important to be ready that at any moment, our top players may be needed by the national team. Also, preparing for the final stage of Euro 2023, we do not forget that in September, a new qualification cycle for the youth national team will begin.”
