A decision by the UEFA Appeals Body has seen Dmitro Kubryak return to the first league of the PFL as an official. Currently, the Odessa native has been assigned to a U-19 championship match between "Zorya" and "Metalist," which will take place in Vity-Litovsk on November 4.
We remind you that Dmitro Kubryak was among the volunteers who offered to go to Mariupol at the end of March. As a medic, Dmitro helped wounded soldiers who were sheltered inside "Azovstal." In April, the neurosurgeon along with Mariupol defenders was taken prisoner and spent nearly five months in captivity.
During a recent meeting with the president of the UAF, UEFA Executive Committee member Andriy Pavelko, Dmitro Kubryak shared that he personally experienced how valuable each Ukrainian citizen is to the football community and Ukraine as a whole. "Unlike our enemies who constantly repeat that they do not abandon their own but in practice consider fellow citizens cannon fodder, for Ukraine every one of its citizens is the highest value. During my captivity, I felt this support every day, every minute, which gave me strength and helped me survive," — shared his emotions Dmitro.
In turn, Andriy Pavelko thanked Dmitro for his bravery, patriotism, and the example that will inspire many Ukrainians. "I thank Dmytro for his character, courage, and patriotism he showed even in the face of danger to his life! Personally, I and our entire team believed it would be possible to free our comrade, and thanks to our soldiers, President of Ukraine, military command this was successful, for which we are very grateful. I am confident that after recovery Dmytro will successfully continue his career as an official in Ukraine, and with time, I believe he can work on international matches," — noted Andriy Pavelko during the meeting at the House of Football.
