In the first match of Group 2, which is hosted by Poznan in Poland, the blue-and-yellow team defeated the Netherlands (5:2). The Ukrainian team then faced off against Croatia.
At the beginning of the game, both teams were struggling to score. On the 13th minute, Kislava pulled down a dangerous shot from Rogar after a corner kick, and shortly after Titova scored from a penalty kick. On the 16th minute, Croatia took the lead thanks to an excellent shot by Stepančević from mid-range. However, Ukraine quickly equalized — Ruban set up a scoring position near the goal. Just before halftime, the opponents committed their sixth foul, but Volovenko failed to convert the double penalty.
But in the second half of the match, the blue-and-yellow team did not give any chances to the Balkan side. First, Titova converted a penalty kick, and on the 31st minute Ukraine beautifully executed an out-of-bounds play, which was finished by Dubytska. Immediately after, Titova scored her second goal, while our team's fifth goal was an own goal by Forsyk.
In summary, Ukraine won with a score of 5:1. The next match in the main round will be against Poland on October 22 (kickoff at 8 PM Kyiv time).
