In the UEFA Euro 2023 (U-17) qualifying round, Ukraine's youth national team (players born in or after 2006) will face Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ukraine U-17 national team has started a training camp dedicated to preparing for the qualifying round of the UEFA Euro 2023. The head coach of the team, Yuriy Moroz, spoke about how the team will prepare for the tournament on the official website of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF).

— Coach Yurii Leonidovich, on October 15 your team began preparations for the UEFA Euro 2023 qualifying round. Is everything going well?

— Everything is fine. We have gathered at the FC "Rukh" base. The conditions for work here are excellent, so we only need to focus on preparing for the matches. In Lviv, we will train until October 21 and then head directly to Bosnia and Herzegovina where our first match against Azerbaijan takes place on October 24.

— Will there be a friendly match?

— Yes, we plan to play against "Rukh" U-19 on October 19.

— Are all the players you wanted available?

— Basically, yes. We have two foreign-based players in our squad. This is goalkeeper Marko Kessel of Czech Slavia and defender Arthur Bakay from Austrian Salzburg.

— What will be the focus during preparations for the qualifying round?

— Since 70% of our players have game experience, we will mainly focus on tactical training.

— Have you managed to study your group opponents?

— We have materials from matches involving Azerbaijan, Liechtenstein, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is enough information about the opponents, we keep everything under control. Now it's important to properly reveal the strong and weak points of our opponents to the boys so that the team understands what awaits them at this tournament.
