This year, 100 of the best players, 40 female players, and 20 national and club team coaches will be nominated for the award. The official BSWW website announced this.

Among the top 100 performers are Ukrainian national team footballers Yuriy Shcheritsya, Igor Borosuk, and Dmytro Voytenko. In women's nominations, Yuliia Dyhtyar, Anastasiia Kliapachenko, Anastasiia Teresh, and Myrosłava Wypasnyak made it to the top 40. Among the candidates for the title of best coach are Ukraine men’s national team coach Mykola Kostenko and Ukraine women's national team coach Yurii Klimenko.

Voting in all categories will take place among coaches and captains of national teams until October 11 this year. If a national association does not have a women’s team, then the best female player is voted on by the men's national team coach and captain. Coaches and captains of club teams that participated in the Women's FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2022 and UEFA Beach Soccer Cup Europe 2022 also have the right to vote in this nomination.

Winners in all three nominations will be announced during the Beach Soccer Stars gala ceremony in Dubai on November 6, 2022.
