Both teams started the match quite actively and kept the intrigue until the final whistle. The score was opened by Lviv players after Roman Hnatyv scored from a penalty kick in the 31st minute against Ivano-Frankivsk's penalty area. Taking advantage of their home field, the nominal hosts tried to pressurize their opponents, but they did not give up and responded with their own unstoppable desire to score. The first half ended with a minimal lead for Lviv football players.
The second half was played with an obvious advantage in play and territory by the Ivano-Frankivsk region team. Pupils of Viktor Danyschuk constantly attacked, had good opportunities to take the goal, but in these episodes either the goalkeeper of Lviv players played safely or the ball flew wide of target. And yet the efforts of Carpathian footballers were rewarded with a successful shot by Myroslav Kamradsky on the 88th minute. 1:1, and the teams had to play another two halves of 15 minutes.
