World Cup Qualifiers for Women's Teams. European Zone

Group Stage

Europe has 11 direct spots at the 2023 World Cup, with another team advancing to the intercontinental play-offs.

The nine group winners will qualify directly for the World Cup. The second-placed teams in each group will proceed to the next stage.

Play-offs

Nine teams finishing second in their groups will compete in a two-stage play-off tournament.

The top three finishers among these second-placed teams will advance directly to the second round of the UEFA play-offs. Six remaining participants will battle for three spots in one-legged matches at the first stage. Three winners from the first round and three teams that advanced directly to the second stage will compete in one-legged matches to determine the top three finishers in the UEFA play-offs.

The two winners of the UEFA play-off second round with the highest ranking (criteria applied to group stage results plus the second-round playoff) will earn automatic spots at the 2023 World Cup, while the third-place winner will proceed to the intercontinental play-offs.
