Ukrainian national women's team player Olga Ovdiychuk commented on the loss of the blue-and-yellow team in a home match for the 2023 World Cup qualifier against Scotland (0:4) and emphasized the importance of securing a victory in the next qualifier match against Hungary.

"The impression from this match is disappointment because we expected a completely different game. It turned out that we conceded the first goal on the 10th minute and were unable to capitalize on our chances, score in response. We knew the match would be difficult, but we did not expect such a result."

The Scottish national team did not surprise us with anything. We prepared for this game, knowing what the Scots would do on the football field. But it turned out as it did.

Louis Cortes said that we need to forget about this match. This is football, this is life. We need to prepare for the next games. There's a match against Hungary coming up, and we definitely have to win it," — Ovdiychuk said.

We remind you that after conceding to Scotland, Ukraine lost their chance of advancing to the World Cup 2023 qualifiers. The maximum they can achieve is 13 points which currently belong to Scotland, but due to head-to-head results, they cannot surpass them.

The next match for Louis Cortes' team will be against Hungary on June 28 in Rasyshiv at the "Stal" stadium (kickoff at 9 PM Kyiv time).
