The next match of the 2022/2023 League of Nations, Ukraine will play against Armenia in Łódź, Poland, at the LKS Stadium. The game will take place on June 11 (kickoff at 16:00 Kyiv time). On the eve of the match, the head coach of the blue-and-yellow team, Oleksandr Petrakov, spoke at a press conference.
— Is it true that playing in Łódź was your wish?
— Yes, this was my wish. The leadership asked where I wanted to play and which city. I proposed Łódź. I knew there were many Ukrainians working and living here, more than six thousand.
— Ten years have passed since Ukraine and Poland jointly hosted Euro 2012. What memories of this tournament do you have?
— I was at the game between Ukraine and Sweden. I felt proud of my country when we won. I remember that match.
— Are players who missed the match against Ireland ready to play?
— Taras Stepanenko and Georgiy Bushchan have gone home. Eduard Sobol will start training today after a cold, but Oleksandr Syrota is sick. Everyone else is healthy. There will be a training session now, we'll see how everyone looks afterward.
— What are your memories of the U-20 World Cup in Poland, where Ukraine's youth team won in 2019?
— That is in the past. I turn the page and move on.
