The blue-and-yellow team began their journey in the new Nations League round with a victory over Ireland (1:0) at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. After the match, Taras Kachaраба shared his thoughts on the game, including his cancelled goal in the first half.

"Thank you for the welcome. Praise be to God, we managed to win this match because it's always very important to start with a victory. As for my goal — I'm a bit disappointed that it wasn't counted. It was my first goal for the national team, and such an impressive one... But it's good that we scored three points.

I think it was just offside because I didn't use my hands; I played with my body. Perhaps the referee did not expect me to be behind him, fell quite casually. I was already focused on the goal, a beautiful goal came out, which unfortunately wasn't counted.

For the first 10-15 minutes there was some nervousness because this was an official game for many players in the national team. There were many young players on the field. But all the boys managed to control their emotions.

We prepared for the game according to this scheme. During the preparation for matches against Scotland and Wales, we modeled our opponent's play under a 5-4-1 or 3-4-3 formation. We were familiar with it. With each touch of the ball, our game improved, nervousness disappeared. I hope we brought everything planned to life.

Now we will prepare for the next match. All boys performed well. For the coaching staff, the main challenge will be who to put in. I think everyone who played today deserves to play in the upcoming matches," — said Kachaраба.
