The day before the final match of the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Wales, Ukraine's national team held an official training session at «Cardiff City Stadium».

The practice began with a traditional warm-up and preparatory exercises that the players completed in good spirits. Then, 27 of our players participated in game series that served as the final tactical preparation for today's match.

Goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov of Donetsk «Shakhtar» commented on the last stage of the blue-and-yellow team's preparation: «I saw from everyone's mood that they are very focused. There is some nervousness, but this is normal and it even leads to greater concentration. Absolutely everyone is ready for the game and waiting for tomorrow's match.

We — experienced players and understand that we can burn out before the match. But all of us are professionals who play in good clubs and know how to avoid this. There are no questions — everyone knows when to work, and when to relax a bit, laugh, joke. Although it doesn't happen often these days. But for example, after theoretical sessions we can play table tennis.

The pitch at the Cardiff stadium is of very good quality. It's pleasant to work on.

I greeted our goalkeeper coach Vyacheslav Kornienko with his birthday wishes. I am very happy that I have the opportunity to train under such an experienced mentor. He has impressed me as a player, and every day he tries to learn something new. During the days we trained together, he did not repeat any exercise. And this is interesting for any footballer. May health and peace be with him! Ukraine will win!»

We remind you that today's final match of the 2022 World Cup qualifier between Wales and Ukraine will take place in Cardiff (kick-off at 19:00).
