The blue-and-yellow team continues to prepare for the June playoff matches of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers and the Nations League. Defender Valeriy Bondar of Shakhtar spoke about the nuances of his team's work, as well as congratulating Andriy Lunin on the birth of his first child.
"The training process is going very well. I would say it's not too tactical, physical aspects are also present. We are preparing for one of the most important matches in our lives.
During the first part of the gathering, we had two trainings a day. Now we have the opportunity to go to the gym in the morning and training takes place in the evening. Of course, every day we have different activities. We are already feeling good physical condition.
There is no fatigue at all because we are in the national team. We know why we're here, what we're doing it for, and why we train.
I want to congratulate Andriy Lunin, his wife, and his family. This is a great happiness. I am very happy for him; I know Andriy well, he's a really good guy. Congratulations to Lunin on winning the Spanish championship and such an important event in his life.
Of course, we will support Andriy in the Champions League final. Recently, we supported Oleksandr Zinchenko and were very happy for him. We watched the match from the field and hoped that he would take the trophy, which happened. Now we will cheer for Lunin," — said Bondar.
Recall that the 1/2 final of the World Cup qualifiers between Scotland and Ukraine will take place on June 1st at Hampden Park Stadium in Glasgow.
