The blue-and-yellow team continues to prepare for the knockout stages of the 2022 World Cup and the 2022/2023 Nations League. In another friendly match, Ukraine's national team drew with Croatian Rijeka (1:1). After the game, half-back Oleksandr Zubkov commented:

— We need to build up fitness as serious matches are ahead. Today’s main goal was to get fit and run a bit. By our feelings, we managed to do that.

— How will you spend your weekend?

— I'll stay in Ljubljana, recover, and possibly work out in the gym.

— It was disappointing when your goal wasn't allowed due to offside?

— Of course. But I think we could have scored more goals.

— This is the first time Ukraine's national team has played in this exact lineup...

— There might have been some misunderstandings. Personally, I can say that I joined the national team on May 16th and we went to play on the 17th, so it was a bit tough. But we shouldn't look for excuses. I think it was a decent match.

— How would you evaluate your season with Ferencváros?

— It wasn’t my best season, as I missed the last few weeks due to illness and had dental issues. So, I only played in the final match. Today was a bit tough, but our main goal was to run.

— How does competition feel like at your position in Ukraine's national team? For example, Mudryk received good press after his match with Borussia Mönchengladbach...

— I watched that game, Mudryk played very well. There can't be no competition in the national team. Every player wants to show themselves. This is normal. We'll try our best.
