Tuesday, May 17th, the Ukrainian youth national team arrived in Istanbul where they will prepare for their final matches of the Euro-2023 (U-21) qualifying tournament — against the Faroe Islands, North Macedonia, France, and Armenia.

On May 16th at eight in the morning, the delegation of the Ukrainian youth national team departed from the Kyiv Football House heading west and arrived in Uzhhorod later that evening where they stayed overnight.

This afternoon, the blue-and-yellow team departed for Budapest from where they flew to Istanbul and arrived there around 5 PM. The journey took almost one and a half days in total. The Ukrainian players are staying at the Limak Eurasia Luxury Hotel.

Currently, 21 players are part of the squad. Unfortunately, Dynamo player Volodymyr Brazyko will not be able to help due to an injury. Foreign-based players Taloviyev, Vyunyk, Supryaga, and Zhelizko will join later. This evening, under Rostan's guidance, the team plans to conduct their first training session. From tomorrow onwards, they will prepare in a twice-a-day schedule.

Recall that the home matches against North Macedonia and France will be held in Istanbul at the "Essenjurt Nedim Kadioglu" stadium, where the local team "Istanbulspor" plays (capacity 4,500 spectators). Both matches will start at 7:45 PM.

As for both away matches of Rostan's wards, the game Faroe Islands - Ukraine will take place in Torshavn on the "Torshovur" stadium (kick-off at 8 PM Kyiv time), while the match Armenia - Ukraine will be held at the Yerevan Football Academy Stadium (kick-off at 3 PM Kyiv time).

In the final stage of Euro-2023 (U-21), 16 teams will participate — Romania and Georgia as hosts, plus 14 qualifiers joining them (nine group winners, the best second-placed team, and four playoff winners).

Playoff: September 20-27, 2022.

Final Tournament: June/July 2023.

The tournament featuring the sixteen teams will be hosted by four stadiums in Romania (two in Cluj-Napoca and two in Bucharest) and four in Georgia (in Batumi, Poti, and two in Tbilisi). The opening match will take place in Romania, while the final will be held in Georgia.
