The dates of the psychosocial events "Open Football Lessons" in western regions of Ukraine have become known.

In the western regions, psychosocial events "Open Football Lessons" for children of internally displaced persons are starting.

The Ukrainian Football Association and regional football associations will help internally displaced children integrate into receiving communities and unite them with local children through open football lessons.

Displaced families will receive humanitarian aid — 3,000 kits (medical, food, and essential items), while local schools will be provided with a large amount of sports equipment for conducting football events.

The first event dates are already known:

May 20-21 — Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Dunaivtsi;

May 21-22 — Chernivetskiy Oblast, Novoselytsya;

May 23-24 — Ternopil Oblast, Buczacz;

May 26-27 — Ternopil Oblast, Zaliztsi.

The schedule will be continuously updated thanks to new communities joining in.

All project events are held with the approval of regional military administrations.

We remind you that in April, special preparatory training for volunteers was conducted in seven regions — participants of the project.

The general goal of the "Open Football Lessons" project is to contribute to the protection of children affected by war, unaccompanied children, orphans, and other vulnerable children who were forced to be internally displaced in Western Ukraine (the project is currently being implemented in seven regions — Zakarpattya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, and Chernivtsi oblasts).

In addition to the general goal, the project has three specific objectives:

— provide urgent humanitarian aid (medical, food, and non-food items) to internally displaced children and their families;

— provide psychosocial support to children through a powerful social tool of mass football, through play and open football events that will unite the target groups of children with local children;

— provide material and moral support to cross-sectoral networks united by football in Western Ukraine in their efforts to help affected target groups of children.

International donors and partners of the project — New Democracy Fund (Denmark), Common Goal (Germany), Cross Cultures Project Association (Denmark).
