In the Football House, a meeting took place between the UAF management and the presidents and delegates of 15 clubs from the Ukrainian Premier League. The central topic of the gathering was the development of arbitration in Ukrainian football.
Following the discussions, participants adopted a decision to unite efforts on the issue of reforming the refereeing corps. UAF stated its full readiness and willingness to implement all changes that would contribute to raising the level of competitions. Technical Director of UAF Igor Dedyshyn emphasized the constructive nature of the meeting:
«I consider the meeting to have been constructive — a substantive dialogue took place. Its outcomes allow me to say that there are no strategic divergences between UAF and clubs regarding approaches to reforming Ukrainian arbitration.»
The next step for the clubs of the UPL was to designate representatives whom all participants in the league would trust. President of the UPL Yevhen Diky specified the composition of the working group and emphasized the unity of club positions:
«In conclusion, everyone agreed that specific steps need to be taken for the reform in this direction. We also received support from the management of the Ukrainian Football Association, for which we would like to express our gratitude. The working group includes the president of the Ukrainian Premier League and representatives of football clubs «Veres» (Rivne), «Dynamo» (Kyiv), «Kryvbas» (Krivyi Rig), «Obolon» (Kyiv) and «Poliyse» (Zhytomyr). All clubs supported this decision.»
The working group will start its work on Monday. Terms were set within which specific initiatives should emerge. Further, they can be presented for discussion and consideration by the clubs and UAF. The first results of joint work will be reviewed in two months.
