Today, March 3, the women's national team of Ukraine begins its path in the selection for the 2027 World Cup. Ahead of the match against England's national team, head coach Yaia Andrushak responded to questions from the official website of the Ukrainian Football Federation.

- The selection has begun. What goal do you set for yourself?

- Our goal in this selection is to fight for a place at the World Cup. Further, we divide our goal into elements. This means specific preparation for each match and improving our actions in every phase of play.

- Your opponents in your tenure are very serious. Do you like it more or less?

- There are two sides to this medal. Of course, getting such top-level opponents at the start is a tough test. On the other hand, I like this challenge because these matches will give us answers about our capabilities at this stage.

- The selection process is interesting. What position can we realistically fight for in the first round?

- I believe that we have the strength to fight for third place in the group. This will give us a chance, say, to face a weaker opponent in the first playoff.

- What is the current situation in the squad before the match against England? Who is missing from the team, are they all healthy?

- Of course, our captain Daria Apaichenko is missing due to muscle injuries. Due to muscle injuries, Danylo Semkiv and Solomia Kup'yak had to leave the squad's setup. However, we managed to call in Yryna Kotya and Yryna Podolska. Also, Lyubov Shmatko suffered an injury but was already part of the general group today.

- What is the atmosphere before meeting with the champions of the last two Euros? Are the girls a bit tense?

- Of course, we have little experience in matches at this level. The coaching staff is trying to instill confidence in the girls. My personal inner wish is that they are brave in every game episode and enjoy such matches!
