After winning the first match against Moldova (7:0), Igor Mosyichov's team faced Portugal.

The first half began at a high pace with constant attacks. On the 4th minute, Rodrigo Monteiros opened the score by outplaying our goalkeeper who had come out too far from his goal. Until halftime, the opponents created at least ten dangerous moments in front of each other's goals but failed to capitalize on them. In the last seconds of the first half, they managed a quick counterattack and Miguel Malhau doubled his team’s lead.

After halftime, Monteiros scored his second goal at the 23rd minute, making the score 3-0. He also set the final result of the match with four minutes to go.

Thus, a 0-4 defeat for Ukraine's national team. Portugal secured their place in the semifinals, while our team’s fate will be decided on October 1st in the third round against Italy.
