Today, in the third qualifying round of the Conference League "Polesia," they faced Hungarian "Paksi."

After their victory a week ago with a score of 3-0 in what was nominally a home match, Rostyslav Rotan's charges could feel quite confident, while their opponents had nothing to lose.

So the first half of today's match unfolded under pressure from the Hungarians, who were trying to score an early goal. However, despite this, dangerous moments were created by the Ukrainians. Oleksandr Filippov twice had real chances to open the scoring, but each time the goalkeeper of "Paksi" intervened. And it was the hosts who took advantage of their opportunity. On the 39th minute after a corner kick cross found Sabo, who shot from the air into Volince's goal.

At the start of the second half, things got even worse for the Zhytomyrians. Tot took the ball to the right corner and scored in the far corner — 2-0. Seven minutes before the final whistle, the Hungarians had a chance to take the game into extra time — Zeke cut inside into the penalty area and almost hit the far post.

But on the sixth minute of added time, the Ukrainians managed to score one back. After Josef's shot, the goalkeeper parried the ball, but Tallis scored from the rebound.

So, 1-2 — a defeat for "Polesia," which nevertheless qualified for the play-off round of the Conference League based on the aggregate score over two matches.
