Kyiv's club became the second representative of Ukraine to start the European cup season. The match on Malta was in favor of the blue-and-whites, although in the opening minutes the hosts were active and made the visitors nervous. However, this did not prevent the guests from quickly opening the scoring. In the 13th minute, Mykhailenko - Boyalyskyi - Vanat combination worked out. The best scorer of the last two seasons in the UPL didn't miss, accurately shooting from the goalkeeper's area — 0:1.

In the middle of the first half, Vanat could have scored a brace (Boyalyskyi again provided the assist). Vladislav outmaneuvered the goalkeeper but missed the open goal from an acute angle. In the added time to the first half, Popov headed home a set-piece delivery, but the referee disallowed the goal.

After halftime, Dynamo continued to control the game. On the 76th minute, there was a quick central attack that Boyalyskyi finished with a shot from outside the penalty area. The ball hit a small deflection and found the back of the net for the second time — 0:2. And in added time Voloshyn converted Shaparenko's cross to put the final nail in the coffin — 0:3!

The return match will take place on July 29th in the Polish city of Lublin.
