The head coach of Ukraine's women's national team, Volodymyr Pyatenko, shared his impressions about the friendly match between his players and Polish footballers in Mielec on the official website of the UAF:

— In my opinion, the result does not reflect the game. Since with a minimal lead for Poland in the score, our Kozlova and Yivkova did not capitalize on goal-scoring opportunities. Even when the hosts scored their second goal, Ukraine had chances to turn things around. Unfortunately, during injury time when concentration was lacking, they conceded two unnecessary goals.

— What then helped Poland achieve such a decisive victory?

— First of all, it's worth noting that the participants were in different game moods. The hosts are currently at their peak form as they will start the final stage of the European Championship in Switzerland next week, while my players have just returned from vacation and limited themselves to a short-term training camp.

Secondly, Poland fielded all their strongest players, whereas Ukraine had a group of debutants and footballers who could not boast sufficient playing practice.

But I am satisfied with the attitude of my players; they managed to do a lot of work and were able to challenge ambitious opponents. The only difference from Poland is that our guests did not capitalize on their goal-scoring opportunities and made more mistakes. And in football, every little detail counts.

— Under your leadership, our team has never lost so decisively before, but one must find the positive in any failure…

— Of course, things could have turned out differently if Ukraine had played with a competitive lineup, but we have what we have. It's good that this was a friendly match. The important thing is to see the closest reserve and understand that the training camp and game in Mielec were very informative. We identified which shortcomings need addressing and which positions require strengthening. But I repeat, I am only dissatisfied with the score…
