The XXII Professional Football League of Ukraine Conference also discussed matters related to membership in the PFL and the contours of the new season in the second league.

Indeed, the following clubs ceased their membership in the PFL: "Balkans", "Karpaty" (Halych), "Zviahel".

The second league will feature 23 teams for the 2025/2026 season.

Group "A": "Bukovyna-2", "Vilhivtsi", "Kulikiv-Bila", "Polsia-2", "Real Pharma", "Niva", "Sambir-Niva-2", "Skala 1911", "Uzhhorod", "Lesne", "Athlete".

Group "B": "Hrynyk-Sport", "Dinaz", "Kolos-2", "Left Bank-2", "Locomotive", "Metallurg", "Oleksandria-2", "Penuel", "Trostyanets'", "Chayka", "Chornomorets-2", "Rebel".

The promotion play-offs will be held in three rounds. Direct promotion to the first league is reserved for group winners. Playoff matches are scheduled between teams finishing second in Group A and B, and those finishing 13th and 14th in the first league.

The opening day of the season will be on July 26.

It is worth noting an increase in the number of participants represented by second club teams. This includes "Bukovyna-2", "Left Bank-2" and "Chornomorets-2".

In Group A, high chances for a class upgrade are expected from "Skala 1911" and "Kulikiv-Bila", which is led by the former Karpaty head coach Serhiy Atlasnyuk, with Vasyl Kardas, a former national team player of Ukraine, serving as sports director.

Do not underestimate teams that played among amateurs last season either, especially "Lesne", where prominent former Dynamo Kyiv players Denis Garmash and Serhiy Rybalka hold key positions. Newcomers should take inspiration from "Proboi" which immediately secured promotion to the first league after gaining entry into the second.
