The men's national beach soccer team of Ukraine started today in the qualifying stage of Euroleague-2025, which is taking place in the Spanish town of El Puerto de Santa Maria.

The opponents of coach Mykola Kostenko were the German national team. The start period did not go well for the Ukrainians. A gross mistake while passing back to the goalkeeper on the second minute led to a yellow card for Anton Ross and a very dangerous set play, which was converted by Jonas Schulte. Blue-and-yellow could have equalized before halftime, but Alexander Samoylenko's powerful shot hit the crossbar.

At the beginning of the second 12-minute period, Ukraine conceded again. On the 14th minute, Jan Peterson scored a bicycle kick past Andriy Nershyuk. Five minutes later, our national team had the right to take a penalty shot, but Ross's strike was saved by the goalkeeper.

The Ukrainians managed to break the deadlock only in the third period, on the 27th minute. Samoylenko scored with a powerful kick from his right foot past the German goalkeeper — 1:2. Just three minutes later, another crossbar saved their opponents from conceding a goal. Then Maxim Voytka's free-kick shot at the 31st minute was successful — 2:2. The Ukrainians did not stop there, and Oleg Zborovsky put our national team ahead for the first time in the match.

Unfortunately, immediately after this, Anton Ross received a red card and will be suspended from the next game. Despite this, 3:2 — a hard-fought victory for Ukraine's national team.
