We remind you that last year, the Ukrainian U-19 team qualified for the Euro 2024 semifinals in Northern Ireland and secured a spot at next year's World Cup among teams U-20.

The 2025 World Cup (U-20) will take place from September 27 to October 19 in five cities in Chile: Valparaíso, Santiago, Viña del Mar, Rancagua, and Talca. Twenty-four teams from six confederations will participate. Initially, they will compete in six quartets. The top two teams from each group, along with four of the six third-place finishers, will advance to the round of 16. From there, it follows the usual format.

After the African Cup (U-20), all 24 participants in the World Cup are known: Chile (as hosts); Spain, France, Italy, Ukraine, and Norway — from Europe; USA, Mexico, Cuba, and Panama — from CONCACAF; Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay — from South America; Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Australia — from Asia; New Zealand and New Caledonia — from Oceania; PAR, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt — from Africa.

The draw for the 2025 World Cup (U-20) will take place in summer (the date has not yet been set). The seeding will be based on the sum of points earned by the country over the last five U-20 World Cups — 2023 (100%), 2019 (80%), 2017 (60%), 2015 (40%), and 2013 (20%). The geographical principle will also be taken into account during the draw. According to preliminary information, Ukraine will be in the second pot.

We add that Uruguay is currently the reigning world champion among U-20 teams, while in 2019, the gold medal was won by the Ukrainian team led by Oleksandr Petrakov.
