Dmytro Mykhailenko: "Ukraine showed steady progress throughout the matches in Portugal"

The youngest Ukrainian national team (players born in 2010 or later) concluded their training camp by participating in the UEFA Development Tournament.

After the Ukraine U-15 team returned from their training camp in Portugal, where they took part in an international tournament, the head coach of the team, Dmytro Mykhailenko, summed up this stage of the team's progress.

— The camp went well, — said Mykhailenko. — We are happy to have gained invaluable experience from the three matches we played in Portugal, where the opponents presented a completely different challenge compared to domestic competitions. We saw ourselves in comparison to strong teams. Progress was evident from our first match against the hosts, when we were just getting to know the players. In the games against Italy and Turkey, our team showed a good level of football. Ukraine showed steady progress throughout the matches in Portugal.

We still have players who will wear the blue and yellow jersey. This was the first camp, so it was physically impossible to cover everyone at once.

As for our plans, they exist, but it’s not worth discussing specifics until they are confirmed. What’s important is that the team and I, as a coach, have gained invaluable international experience.
