Dmytro Mykhailenko: "We want to get closer to the players and assess their level against top European football nations"
The youngest Ukraine team, U-15 (players born in 2010 or later), will take part in the UEFA Development Tournament, which will be held in Portugal from December 13 to 18.
The first-ever camp for Ukraine’s youngest national team, U-15, has begun. The Blue and Yellow team will compete in the UEFA Development Tournament in Portugal. In addition to the hosts, their opponents will include the national teams of Italy and Turkey.
The head coach of the team, Dmytro Mykhailenko, shared his comments with the UAF official website regarding this camp.
"The expectations are very positive," said Mykhailenko. "This is the first tournament involving U-15 players. I think they will enjoy playing in such a company, aiming to showcase all their talents and strive for victory.
Regarding the plans for the training process, our coaching staff wants to get closer to the players born in 2010, introduce them to our football philosophy and ideas, and review more players who are playing abroad. We also want to assess the level of our young players against top footballing nations in Europe. We have very little information about our opponents, so we will study them directly during the tournament.
