EURO 2025 (WU-19): Ukraine WU-19 opens qualifiers with a win over Armenia
Today, Ukraine’s WU-19 team began their EURO 2025 (WU-19) qualifying campaign with a match against Armenia.
Following the Round 1 draw, Nataliya Ihnatovych’s side was placed in Group B6 alongside Israel and Armenia. The Blue and Yellows faced their Armenian counterparts in Yerevan.
Ukraine held a slight advantage in the first half, which they converted into a goal. In the 27th minute, Daryna Krasnoborodko intercepted the ball on the flank. She delivered a pass to Anastasiya Stakhnyuk, who unleashed a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area to open the scoring.
In the second half, the hosts pushed for an equalizer, but Ukrainian goalkeeper Viktoriya Kalinchuk made a crucial save in a one-on-one situation in the 63rd minute. Ukraine had a chance to double their lead in the 71st minute when Yelyzaveta Maslovska found herself in a prime scoring position but failed to hit the target. However, in the second minute of added time, after a corner kick, Maryna Ptytsyna struck a volley that beat the Armenian goalkeeper, securing Ukraine’s 2:0 victory.
The next match in Ukraine’s EURO 2025 (WU-19) qualifying campaign is scheduled for November 29 against Israel.

League A
League A will feature 28 teams, including seven teams promoted from League B following round 2 of the 2023/2024 season, which concluded this spring. The teams have been divided into seven groups. The teams within each group will compete at a single venue in a mini-tournament format.
Teams that finish fourth in their groups will continue their season in League B's round 2. Seeding for round 2 will depend on the teams' rankings in the first round. Poland will also participate in the mini-tournament, although they are guaranteed a place in the finals as the host country.
League B
League B will consist of 23 teams, including those relegated from League A in round 2 of the 2023/2024 season and Malta, which returns to the tournament after a one-year absence. Participants will compete for promotion to League A in six groups. Group winners and the best runner-up based on matches against the first and third teams in their groups will move to the higher division.
