Less than two minutes after the restart of the game, Viktor Zukhanov put Donetsk ahead. The Ukrainians' lead lasted a little less than 20 minutes. Yegor Kostyuk fouled in his own penalty area and earned a yellow card and a penalty kick. Tommaso Ebone converted the spot-kick — 1:1. However, the miners still went into halftime as leaders. On the 37th minute, Oleksandr Lomaga scored.

In the second half,«Bologna» managed to seize the initiative and even go ahead with efforts from Alessandro De Luca and Lorenzo Menegazzo. Nevertheless, «Shakhtar» did not give up, and first Viktor Zukhanov equalized, and on the 90th minute Bogdan Tryfanenko secured victory for the Ukrainian team — 4:3.
