Valeriy Bondar: "I'm confident that everyone is excited for the Nations League matches"

Valeriy Bondar shares insights on Ukraine's preparation for the Nations League matches against Albania and Czechia.

On September 2, the Ukraine national team officially began their focused preparation for the upcoming Nations League 2024/2025 matches in September. The team arrived in Prague and held their first training session, which included players who didn’t have sufficient game time over the weekend and goalkeepers.

Defender Valeriy Bondar shared his expectations for the upcoming Nations League campaign:

"Every tournament is very important for our national team. I believe these matches give us the chance to return to League A. With teams like Czechia, Albania, and Georgia, who were participants in EURO 2024, we need to show good football and achieve positive results. We want to make our fans happy.

It's been two months since the European Championship, and I think everyone has missed the national team — fans and players alike. So, I'm confident that everyone is excited for the Nations League matches.

The journey to the Chișinău airport was tough, and we needed a day to recover from it. But mentally, it's even harder because the terrorist country continues to prevent us from living and playing normally. We've faced this before, and I sincerely hope that a just peace comes soon and the aggressor is held accountable for all its actions," said Valeriy Bondar.

As a reminder, in September, Ukraine will play two Nations League 2024/2025 Group B1 matches in Prague. On September 7, the Blue and Yellow will host Albania at Epet Arena, and on September 10, they will face Czechia at Eden Arena.
