In the second period, Poland extended their lead when Dagmara Świt scored in the 16th minute. However, just two minutes later, Ukraine's Oleksandra Skybina narrowed the gap to 1:2.

The final period saw Justyna Matusiak seal the victory for Poland with a goal, ending the match 1:3 in favor of the Polish team.

Ukraine will play their next match against Portugal on August 31.
