Ukraine team arrives at EURO 2024 base
The morning after their dominant 4:0 victory in a friendly match against Moldova, the Ukrainian national team had breakfast and then immediately headed to the Chisinau airport.
As is customary during their two-day stay in the Moldovan capital, the Ukrainian players were accompanied by numerous young fans eager to take photos and get autographs. These "photo hunters" also greeted the team at the airport, with the interest in EURO 2024 participants palpable at every step.
After passing through passport control, the team boarded their flight, which departed on schedule at 11:00 and took two and a half hours to reach one of the EURO 2024 host cities — Frankfurt.

According to the regulations of the final tournaments, the Ukrainian team bus met the players directly on the runway. Arriving at a major tournament is always a special moment: a carpet with the EURO 2024 emblem and the tournament slogan "United by Football" was laid out in front of the plane. Upon arrival, head coach Serhiy Rebrov and the players were greeted by Ukraine's Consul General in Frankfurt Vadym Kostiuk, the mayor of Taunusstein (the team's base) Joachim Reimann, and Hesse's Minister of Education Armin Schwarz. Warm words, friendly handshakes, pleasant smiles, and sincere wishes for a successful tournament created a positive first impression of Ukraine's arrival in Germany.

After a brief passport control check, the team boarded their bus and headed directly to their training base in Taunusstein, a town 30 kilometers away, which they reached in half an hour. Hotel staff, dressed in traditional embroidered shirts, welcomed the special guests with Ukrainian bread and the melody of the national anthem. The super fan of the national team, Leofan, also arrived early to greet the players, giving each a hearty lion's "high-five" and awarding Vitaliy Mykolenko the Lion of the Match prize for the game against Moldova, as voted by fans.

After arrival and lunch, the team members went to their rooms to rest, as today is a rest day in their training schedule. Yesterday, after the final whistle, the 11 outfield players who came on as substitutes in the second half (except for Zinchenko, who joined the game in the 30th minute, and Dovbyk, who entered the field immediately after halftime) and two goalkeepers held a 30-minute training session at the Zimbru Stadium. This included intensive running and ball possession exercises. Additionally, all players warm up before the match and substitutes warm up actively during the game. Thus, all fit Ukrainian players received adequate physical activity yesterday.

The only player currently requiring medical examination and treatment is Vitaliy Mykolenko. Right after the game, Ukraine team doctor Vitaliy Kiliyan accompanied the defender to the Chisinau Emergency City hospital. The medical staff at the clinic treated the football guests with great care, performing a CT scan within half an hour and at no cost! The team sincerely thanks the Chisinau Emergency City Hospital for their important assistance and support.

Upon arrival in Germany, Mykolenko will undergo an MRI for a more detailed examination to determine the treatment duration and strategy.
Tomorrow, the Ukrainian national team will have an open training session for fans and media at BRITA Arena in Wiesbaden, starting at 11:00 CET.
