Georgiy Sudakov: "I will be fully prepared for the match against Romania"

On June 7 in Warsaw, the Ukrainian national team suffered a defeat to Poland in a friendly match (1:3). Midfielder Georgiy Sudakov commented on the result of the match.

"It's hard to say what the main reason for the loss was. Probably, we lost concentration on set pieces. We conceded two quick goals, and then the third. It's difficult to recover after that and level the score. But we played a decent game, although we realize that the result matters to everyone. However, we are preparing for the Euros and understand that the match was a friendly. Our main focus is on preparing for the opening game against Romania.

Regarding our game structure, it's not fair to say that we played poorly. Two corner kicks played a key role. When you're trailing 0:3 by the 30th minute, it's hard to level the score.

In the first half, the Poles started pressing high, and we had many ball losses in simple situations. I think we needed to play more vertically. When we adjusted, we had three good chances in the first half already. Opportunities started to arise when we played behind their defense. We should have added to these components immediately.

Despite a recent injury, I feel almost ready. There are still a few days left, then the match against Moldova. By then, I believe I'll be fully prepared for the game against Romania," said Georgiy Sudakov.
