Ukraine loses to Poland in friendly match in Warsaw
In preparation for EURO 2024, the Ukrainian national team faced Poland in a friendly match held in Warsaw on June 7.
Today, the blue-yellow squad played their second match ahead of the final tournament. Coach Serhiy Rebrov made significant changes to the starting lineup compared to the game against Germany (0:0). It's worth noting Mykolenko's return to the field after an injury.

The hosts quickly scored as Walukiewicz netted a corner kick early in the game. Later, Zieliński's attempt from outside the box posed a threat, but Bushchan saved after Buksa's strike. In the 16th minute, the Poles doubled their advantage with Zieliński sending the ball to the far corner of Bushchan's net.
Only after this did our team create several sharp attacks, but failed to finish them with shots on target. Instead, the Poles scored their third as Romanchuk completed Skurash's corner kick. The blue-yellow team had a chance to retaliate immediately, but Tymchyk failed to beat the goalkeeper after Dovbyk's pass.
Towards the end of the first half, our team continued to attack dangerously, with Malinovskyi's long-range shot being the closest. In the 41st minute, the blue-yellow team finally scored as Malinovskyi passed forward to Dovbyk, who managed to beat the defenders and Skorupski.

At the start of the second half, Skoras missed a chance from a good position and later tested Bushchan from outside the penalty area. The guests responded with a dangerous shot from Dovbyk, which went wide after a deflection. The next dangerous moment occurred in the 74th minute when Bushchan parried Buksa's header after a set piece.
The Ukrainians responded with a dangerous shot from Sudakov after Mudryk's throw-in, but the keeper saved. Zinchenko also had his chance but missed the target. Several more promising attacks from the blue-yellow team failed to materialize into real threats. Poland's chances included shots from Lewandowski and Puchacz, which were saved by Bushchan. In injury time, Mudryk made a good pass to Vanat, but Skorupski intervened. In the end, our team lost 1:3.
