On May 28 at the V. Bannikov Scientific and Technical Center, an annual football tournament was held in honor of the birthday of a communications expert, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor, head of the tactical-specialized training department Colonel Igor Pavlov, who heroically fell in February 2015 while defending Ukraine's independence in the zone of anti-terrorist operation.

The tournament was organized with the support of the Ukrainian Football Association, Pechersky District State Administration in Kyiv, and the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informationization named after Heroes of Chortorysk. Teams participating included: the National Aviation University team, the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv team, the Institute of Special Communication and Information Protection KPI named after Igor Sikorsky team, and the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informationization named after Heroes of Chortorysk.

Among the guests of honor at the tournament were Colonel Igor Pavlov's daughter, Olena; commander of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informationization named after Heroes of Chortorysk Brigadier General Dmitry Romanov; first vice president of the Ukrainian Football Association Pavlo Boychuk; former national team player and football club players "Shakhtar" and "Dnipro," head coach of the "Epicerter" team Serhiy Nagornyak; deputy head of Pechersky District State Administration in Kyiv Vladyslav Zvolinsky.

According to the tournament results, the best goalkeeper was recognized as Oleksandr Zagorobsky (ISZZI), the best defender - Oleg Lugovoy (VIKNU), the best forward - Yevgen Tverdokhlib (NAU), and the best player was Volodymyr Kulish (VITI). The team standings were distributed as follows:

- fourth place - VIKNU named after T. Shevchenko;

- third place - NAU;

- second place - ISZZI named after I. Sikorsky;

- first place - VITI named after Heroes of Chortorysk.

The teams were awarded cups, medals, certificates, autographed balls by UAF President Andriy Shevchenko, national team jerseys, and calendars.

First vice president of the UAF Pavlo Boychuk presented a national team jersey and an autographed ball from Andriy Shevchenko to the commander of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informationization named after Heroes of Chortorysk, noting: "Thank you for your service and work."

A pleasant surprise was the appearance at the tournament of a national team player and football club "Arsenal" (London) member Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is also part of the UAF Executive Committee. Each team had an opportunity to take photos with him as a memento.
