Ukraine futsal national team fell to Brazil in Lithuania tournament

Today, on April 15th, Ukraine's futsal national team continued their participation in the international tournament in Lithuania with a match against the Brazilians.

The blue-yellow squad started the tournament with a victory over the hosts (5:2). Now, under the guidance of Oleksandr Kosenko, they faced the five-time world futsal champions — Brazil.

At the start of the match, Abakshyn had a good chance but couldn't beat the goalkeeper, and Zvarych later hit the post. However, the Brazilians opened the scoring in the 5th minute through a superb combination finished by Araujo. Soon after, Pasqual scored twice for Brazil following two mistakes by Savenko.

Then the blue-yellow team conceded for the fourth time, with da Silva finding the net after a corner. Our team responded with a shot from Korsun hitting the crossbar, as well as a missed chance from Semenchenko. However, in the 12th minute, da Silva scored his second goal after another corner. Towards the end of the first half, the Brazilians were saved by the woodwork again, this time after a shot from Zhuk.

At the start of the second half, Abakshyn reduced the deficit for the Ukrainian team after a corner, but Brazil soon found the net again. In the 26th minute, Melnyk scored the second goal for our team, but in the 31st minute, the South American representatives scored for the seventh time. In the end, the blue-yellow team lost with a score of 2:7.

In their final match of the tournament, Oleksandr Kosenko's team will face France on April 16th.
