A working meeting on refereeing issues in the UPL took place at the House of Football

On April 2, a working meeting was held at the House of Football initiated by the Ukrainian Association of Football. The meeting included representatives from the leadership of the UAF and UPL as well as representatives of UPL football clubs.

The meeting was attended by Vice President of the UAF Oleksandr Shevchenko, General Secretary of the UAF Ihor Gryzhenko, Head of the Arbiters Committee Kateryna Monzul, Head of the Professional Football Committee Oleg Luzhnyy, Acting President of the UPL Yevgen Dydyk, and representatives of UPL clubs.

During the meeting, new changes in the Ukrainian arbitrage system were discussed. Specifically, participants talked about the mechanism for applying a draw-based system when assigning referees to matches in the Ukrainian Championship. As a reminder, a test run of this system took place during the assignment of referees for the semi-finals of the Cup of Ukraine. To implement such a system for UPL matches, among other things, it would be necessary to abandon the regional principle in assigning referees. Club representatives understood and accepted this proposal.

In addition, club representatives were informed that within the framework of reforming the Ukrainian arbitrage system, polygraph testing was applied to individual members of the refereeing corps.

Furthermore, UPL club leaders once again returned to discussions about establishing a fund for bonus payments to top referees at the end of the season and expressed full confidence in the Arbiters Committee of the UAF.
