Ukraine national team defender Illia Zabarnyi spoke about the start of the main squad's preparation for the Euro 2024 playoff semifinal match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Yesterday in Marbella, Spain, Ukraine's national team held its first full training session as part of their preparations for the upcoming match against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The team worked on the pitch at the football center "Banus." Defender Illia Zabarnyi commented on the start of work.

"It's always pleasant to come to national team camp. And not just because things are going well for me in my club right now. I was worried about the guys, about that internal energy that exists within the team. Of course, there was a set tone at the club as well. I am very pleased that I managed to score, as it's important to me. I hope this isn't my last goal in England. I will work hard so that I can also score for the national team—perhaps not such spectacular ones, but still goals. The ball was a bit of a workhorse.

The upcoming match is going to be important, and we are only focused on winning. Everyone understands this, so I think everything will be fine with us. I believe that we are ready for the game. We will work out all aspects—including set pieces. We know what needs to be done in such situations. It's great when I have an opportunity to contribute and help my team. I fully support it.

We are here in very pleasant weather conditions. In England, for example, there is rain right now. And although I am used to it, it’s nice to come here and enjoy the sun even upon exiting the plane. The fields and hotel here are excellent. Everything is set up for full preparation, so all that's left is to play,"—said Illia Zabarnyi.

Recall, the Euro 2024 playoff semifinal match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine will take place on March 21 in Zenica and will start at 8:45 PM local time (9:45 PM Kyiv time).
