The qualification for the Women's Euro 2025 will take place from April to December of this year and will determine which 15 teams join hosts Switzerland.

Today, on March 5 in Nyon, Switzerland, the draw for Leagues A, B, and C took place. The final placement of the teams was determined after the League of Nations matches that took place in February. As a reminder, Ukraine's national team played against Bulgaria in the playoff matches (4:0, 3:0) and secured their spot in Division B.

According to the rating in the Women's League of Nations, Ukraine was placed in the third pot during the draw. The team of Vladimir Pyatenko landed in Group V4, where they will face Wales, Croatia, and Kosovo.

Group A1: Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Finland.

The distribution of tickets for Euro 2025 will take place based on the results of the next league cycle. Teams play in groups of four or three (League C). The top eight teams in League A (first and second places) will qualify directly to the final tournament, where they will join host Switzerland.

Seven remaining spots will be contested in two playoff rounds. In the first round, teams finishing third and fourth in League A groups play against group winners and three of the best teams finishing second in League C groups. Eight winners advance to the second round.

In another path, four group winners and two best teams finishing second in League B will face off against the remaining two teams finishing second and four teams finishing third in League B. Six winners move on to the second round.

In the second playoff round, 14 national teams directly compete for seven spots at Euro 2025's final tournament, where a total of sixteen participants are expected.

The paths of teams in the playoffs will be adjusted as necessary to account for Switzerland’s participation in League B while representing the host country at Euro.

If Switzerland finishes first, second or third in its League B group, then the best fourth-placed team from that division will participate in the playoff matches.

League promotion and relegation

At the same time, teams are also competing for positions in the next League of Nations cycle starting 2025—2027:

— winners and runners-up as well as third-place finishers in groups of League A will remain in League A;

— second-placed teams, along with the three best third-placed teams in groups of League B, will remain in League B;

— second-, third- and fourth-placed teams in groups of League C will remain in League C;

— group winners from Leagues B and C will move up to a higher division;

— the fourth-placed team in groups of Leagues A and B, as well as the worst third-place finisher in League B, will drop down to a lower division.

Playoff draw: July 19, 2024.
