Head coach of the Ukrainian women's national team, Volodymyr Pyatenko, commented on the official website of the UAF about recent news from the team camp:

— We have been in training for four days near the Turkish city of Antalya, where we are able to train on a grass pitch. However, only 19 February did all players gather as we were waiting for Inna Hlushchenko and Kateryna Boklaich, who were involved with their clubs in France's championship.

— It seems that the match against Bulgaria will have a certain advantage in playing practice…

— Yes. Since the second part of Ukraine’s championship will only start at the end of March, those Bulgarian players who play in their home country will manage to play one official match, while foreigners — much more.

In our case, besides Hlushchenko and Boklaich, playing practice can be proud of Olha Ovdychuk, Yana Derkach, and Lyubov Shmatko who play in Turkey. We will try to level the Bulgarian players' advantage in playing practice through perfect physical preparation.

— Did you include all the strongest players in the sports delegation that is going to the matches against Bulgaria?

— Unfortunately, due to injuries sustained during friendly matches, we will not be able to rely on Yana Kalinina, Nadia Kunitsyna, and Viktoriya Hryhin. They have been replaced by Yana Malaхova, Elizaveta Molodyuk, and Anastasia Voronina.

— What can you say about the Bulgarian team?

— The core of this national team consists of foreigners, most of whom play in Switzerland, Austria, and Romania. Most Bulgarians act as a second number, trying to find Simon Petkova from Swiss "Arau" with long passes on the attacking line. We had an opportunity to thoroughly study the game of the Bulgarian team, and now the main thing is to demonstrate our best qualities on the football field.

— How do you plan to travel to the venue of the first match?

— First, we will fly to Istanbul and then take a bus for 380 kilometers to Bulgarian city Kırklareli. On February 24th, we will return to Antalya via the same route where the second match will be played.

Reminder, the game Bulgaria—Ukraine will take place on February 23rd in Bulgarian village Kırklareli at the central stadium "Arda-Arena". The start of the match is scheduled for 16:00 Kyiv time.

The return match Ukraine—Bulgaria will be played on February 27th. Nominal home game will take place at "Mardan" stadium in Antalya (Turkey). The start of this match is scheduled for 15:00 Kyiv time.
