To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on February 8, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country. 

Glory to Ukraine! The fifteenth hundred and fifth day of large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore laws and customs of war, using tactics of terror, carrying out missile and air strikes, shelling with multiple rocket launchers not only military but also numerous civilian objects in our country.

During the past day, 92 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out 51 missile and 80 air strikes, conducted 89 shelling attacks with multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians, including children. Multi-story buildings, private homes, and other civilian infrastructure were damaged in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Hmelnytskyi, and Lviv regions.

During the night Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine using 17 UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type. With anti-aircraft defense forces of Ukraine, 11 strike UAVs were destroyed.

Air strikes hit: Yablunivka in Sumy region; Tabayivka in Kharkiv region; Bihorivka in Luhansk region; Oleksandrivka, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Kostiantynivka, Staromajorske in Donetsk region; Novodarivka in Zaporizhzhia region; Horostenivka, Zamyivka, Tyaginka in Kherson region.

More than 130 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On Severian and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on Kupyansk direction, our defenders repelled 3 attacks near Sinkyvka and Ivanivka, Kharkiv region, where the enemy attempted to break through our defense.

On Lyman direction Ukrainian soldiers repelled 9 attacks by the enemy in areas of populated places Bihorivka Luhansk region and Terny, Toriske Donetsk region.

On Bakhmut direction our defense forces repelled 8 attacks by occupiers near Ivanivske and Klyshchyvka Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavriya" on Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on aggressors. Thus, during the past day, our defense forces repelled 27 attacks in areas of Novobakhmutivka and Avdiivka as well as 13 more attacks near Nevelskiy and Pervomaysk Donetsk region.

On Mariupol direction Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold back the enemy near Krasnogorivka, Georgiyivka, Pobedy, and Novomykhailivka Donetsk region, where 22 attacks were repelled.

On Shakhtarsk direction the enemy did not carry out offensive (assault) actions.

On Zaporizhzhia direction our defenders repelled 2 attacks by the enemy west of Verbove and Robotino, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on Kherson direction, defense forces continue to hold positions and repel assaults by occupying troops. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. Thus, during the past day, the enemy carried out 4 unsuccessful assault actions.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers actively inflict casualties on occupation forces in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the past day, aviation of defense forces inflicted strikes on 6 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket troops delivered strikes on 3 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment as well as 2 ammunition depots of the enemy.
