To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 6:00 on January 16, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred and ninetieth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, 94 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out 1 rocket and 68 air strikes, conducted 78 artillery attacks on our positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Civilian buildings and infrastructure were damaged or destroyed.

Air strikes hit the following locations: Vesele, Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast; Novolubivka, Serebryanske Lysostav in Luhansk Oblast; Terny, Yamopolivka, Bogdanivka, Avdiivka, Oleksandrivske, Novomykhailivka, Vodyane in Donetsk Oblast; Novodarievka in Zaporizhzhia Oblast; Zmiyivka, Novobereislav, Berislav in Kherson Oblast.

Over 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volyn and Polesie fronts, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Severnaya and Slobozhanska fronts, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening directions, and increases mine-explosive obstacles along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 2 enemy attacks near Sinkyvka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lysychansk front, our defenders repelled 13 enemy attacks around Terny, Yamopolivka, and Tor'skyi in Donetsk Oblast, as well as another 19 near Serebryanske Lysostav, Bihorivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Hryhorivka, Verkhnyokamyanske, Veseloe in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut front, our soldiers repelled 7 enemy attacks near Ivanivske, Klyshchyvka, and Andriyivka in Donetsk Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold off the enemy who does not cease attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on occupiers. Thus, during the past day, our forces repelled 18 attacks by aggressors in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka as well as another 16 attacks near Severne, Pervomaiskoye, and Nevelske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Mariupol front, our defenders continue to hold off the enemy in the areas of Krasnogorivka, Georgiyivka, Pobedy, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast, where 12 attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk front, the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, our forces repelled 3 enemy attacks west of Verbove and Robotino in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson front, Ukrainian soldiers continue to expand their foothold. Despite significant losses, the enemy does not cease attempts to drive our units from occupied positions. During the past day, the enemy made an unsuccessful assault on our positions.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces continue active operations inflicting casualties and equipment losses on occupying troops along the entire front line.

During the past day, aviation of the Defense Forces carried out strikes against 22 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and military equipment as well as a ZRK complex of the enemy.

Subunits of rocket forces struck at 3 areas of concentration of personnel, 8 artillery systems, means of PVO, and 2 radar stations of the enemy.
