The European qualification for the first-ever women's football (indoor) World Cup is taking place from April 2024 to April 2025 in a mini-tournament format across three stages (preliminary, main and elite rounds). The Ukraine national team will compete for one of UEFA’s four spots.

Women's Football (Indoor) World Cup 2025. European Qualification. Format

Teams with the lowest positions in the UEFA women's indoor football ranking will start from the preliminary round. The number of teams in the preliminary round depends on the number of entries.

The rest of the participants start from the main round, except for Portugal and Spain, who have received direct passes to the elite round.

If a European team is awarded the right to host the World Cup, it will receive a direct pass to the final stage.

Preliminary Round (draw — 27 February, matches — 14–19 May)

All participants will be divided into groups of four or three teams depending on the number of entries. Winners of the groups and, if necessary, the best runners-up will advance to the main round.

Main Round (draw — 27 February, matches — 15–20 October)

Twenty-four teams will be divided into six quartets. Winners of the groups and, if necessary, the best team among runners-up will advance to the elite round.

Elite Round (draw — 31 October, dates for matches will be announced later)

Eight teams, including Spain and Portugal, will be divided into two quartets. The top two best teams from each group will advance to the final stage.

The first women's football (indoor) World Cup will take place in 2025. Sixteen teams will participate. Quotas for participation are distributed as follows: Europe — 4, South America — 3, Asia — 3, Africa — 2, CONCACAF — 2, Oceania — 1. One more spot will go to the host country.

After introducing the women's football (indoor) World Cup, UEFA will expand the women's Euro indoor tournament to eight teams. The tournament will be held every four years, and the next one will take place in 2027.

As a reminder, Ukraine national team has secured fourth, third, and second places respectively at all three European championships for women's football (indoor) that have been held so far — in 2019, 2022 (rescheduled from 2021), and 2023.
