Note to attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on January 1, 2024 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred seventy-seventh day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

During the past day, there were 55 combat engagements on the front line.

Over the course of the last day, the enemy carried out 13 missile and 127 air strikes, conducted 181 artillery attacks with multiple rocket launchers against our troops' positions and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Residential private and multi-story buildings, as well as other civilian and industrial infrastructure, were damaged.

Yesterday, the Russian aggressors carried out another air attack on Ukraine using 96 Shahed-136/131 drones. Air defense forces destroyed 66 of these unmanned combat aerial vehicles.

At the start of January 1st, the invaders once again launched an airstrike, deploying 26 "Shaheds." Our defenders shot down 21 enemy drones.

Air strikes were suffered by Ivanivka in Kharkiv region; Seredynske village in Luhansk region; Grigoriyevka, Rizhnikivka, Zvanivka, Spirene, Pivnichne, Novomikhailivka in Donetsk region; Robotyne and Novodanilivka in Zaporizhzhya region; Kachkarivka, Chervoniy Mayak, Zmiyevka, Virivka in Kherson region.

Artillery shelling affected nearly 150 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "North" on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

In the Northern and Slobozhanskyi directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Khortytsia" on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 attacks near Sinkyvka and Petro-Pavlivka in Kharkiv region, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to break through our defenses.

In the Lyman direction occupiers carried out assault operations around Makieyevka in Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction our soldiers thwarted 10 attacks by Moscow troops near Bogdanivka and Andriyivka in Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Tavria" on the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who does not give up attempts to encircle the city of Avdiyivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense line, inflicting heavy losses on occupiers. Over the past day of last year, our soldiers repelled four attacks by the enemy in Stepovoy and Avdiyivka areas as well as 14 more attacks near Pervomaysk and Nevelsky Donetsk region.

In the Mariupol direction our defenders continue to hold back aggressors around Novomykhailivka in Donetska, where four attacks were repelled.

In the Shakhtarsk direction forces of defense repelled one attack by the enemy near Urozhayne in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhya direction Ukrainian soldiers suppressed five attacks by Russians around Robotyne and south of Novodarivka in Zaporizhzhya region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM "Odessa" on the Kherson direction, forces of defense continue measures to expand their foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro river. The enemy, despite heavy losses, does not give up attempts to dislodge our units from occupied positions. Yesterday, the aggressor carried out 13 unsuccessful assault operations here.

At the same time, Ukrainian troops continue to inflict casualties on occupiers in manpower and equipment through active actions, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

During the past day, Ukrainian aviation carried out strikes against 11 areas of concentration of enemy personnel.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage on nine areas of concentration of enemy personnel, armaments and military equipment, three ammunition depots and one command post of Russians.

Estimated losses of the enemy over the past day amount to: 780 occupiers, six tanks, 17 armored combat vehicles, 18 artillery systems, two air defense systems, 66 tactical-level unmanned aerial vehicles, 38 automobiles and nine units of special equipment.
