President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, reporting on good results in defending against collaborators and invaders as well as a new defense package from the United States.

A brief report for the day.

Morning — meeting. Internal situation. Relief from Russian strikes. Particularly, Kherson and Kherson Oblast, Zaporizhzhia region, and other regions. Thankful to every rescuer, every doctor, every police officer.

Reports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and SBU: there are good results in defending against collaborators and invaders, combating crime.

Work of our export corridor in the Black Sea: already over 12 million tons of cargo. Especially significant results for December, which is felt at the level of our entire economy.

Of course, there were also briefings today about the front — Kharkiv Oblast, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and the left bank of Kherson. Stability now, strength now, results now determine how this winter of full-scale war will go and what we can expect from next year.

In the afternoon — meetings. Particularly with the Minister of Defense regarding the development of our defensive forces. Specific things that need to be done. And we will do them. Definitely. To preserve our strength and have necessary arguments in talks with partners. Increasing Ukraine's own capabilities and maintaining global consolidation… this is our task, the task of the entire state and everyone who works for it.

There was also a year-end meeting on security guarantees for Ukraine. The Office team, government... There is a basic declaration «G7 Group» — Volodymyr Declaration. It has already been supported by 30 countries. Bilateral work on guarantees has begun and will continue next year.

I just spoke with His Holiness Pope Francis. Thanked him for the Christmas greetings to Ukraine and Ukrainians, for wishes of peace — a fair peace for all of us. Discussed our joint work on the Peace Formula… more than 80 countries are already involved at their representatives' level. There will be more. I am grateful to the Vatican for its support of our work.

Individually, I want to thank the United States for a new defense package — already the 34th this year and the 54th since the start of our defense against Russian aggression. In this package… rockets for HIMARS systems and for S-300s, artillery — caliber 155 and 105, additional armored vehicles. Everything that is needed. Everything that makes a significant difference.

I am grateful to President Biden, Congress… both parties... and everyone who supports us in this specific task: Russian terror must be defeated. Terror must always be defeated. And we all together in the free world will ensure it — do everything to maintain appropriate levels of interaction for our joint strength, the strength of all those who stand against terror.

I thank everyone who is now at war, on combat posts and on combat missions for Ukraine! I thank everyone who helps and works for our common interests!
