Note to your attention – operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on December 25, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred seventy day of the large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine has begun.

The enemy continues to ignore laws and customs of war, employs tactics of terror, carries out missile and air strikes, and shells both military positions and numerous civilian objects in our country with rocket systems.

Over the past day, 66 combat engagements took place. In total, Russian terrorists carried out 2 missile and 61 air strikes, conducted 45 shelling operations with multiple launch rocket systems against both our military positions and populated areas. As a result of these Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among the civilian population. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.

Yesterday, on Christmas Eve in particular, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine again using 31 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Shahed-136/131 type. The air defense forces of Ukraine destroyed 29 attack drones.

Air strikes were suffered by Syntsevka, Petro-Pavlivka and Kyselivka in Kharkiv region; Novoye Yegorivka and Serebryanske forest district in Luhansk region; Yamopolivka, Toretsk, New York, Ocheretyno, Tonikyntse, Avdiivka, Maximilianska, Mariinka, Novomykhailivka, Vodyane, Zolotaya Niva and Staromayorskoye in Donetsk region.

Artillery fire affected nearly 100 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «North» on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhansky directions the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Khortytsia» on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 21 enemy attacks near Syntsevka in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region, where the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to break through our defenses.

On the Lyman direction the enemy did not conduct offensive (assault) operations.

On the Bakhmut direction our soldiers repelled 5 attacks by the enemy near populated areas of Bogdanivka, Klyshchyovka and Andriyivka in Donetsk region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Tavria» on the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who does not give up attempts to encircle the city of Avdiivka. Our soldiers firmly hold their defense, inflicting heavy losses on occupiers. Defense forces repelled 14 attacks by the enemy east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepovo and Avdiivka as well as 17 attacks near Perevalskiy and Nevelskoye in Donetsk region.

On the Mariinka direction, defense forces continue to hold back the enemy in areas of Mariinka and Novomykhailovka in Donetsk region – here our defenders repelled 5 attacks by Russians.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack by Russians southwest of Staromayorskoye in Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, defense forces repelled 3 attacks by the enemy near Robotino and south of Hulyai Pole in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the area of responsibility of OSUM «Odessa» on the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers continue to conduct operations for expanding their foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro river. Despite heavy losses, the enemy does not give up attempts to dislodge our units from occupied positions. During the past day, Russians made 23 unsuccessful assault actions here and received a worthy rebuff before retreating.

The forces and means of Ukraine's air defense continue to inflict losses on occupiers in manpower and equipment, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

Aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out strikes against 12 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of Russians, one ammunition depot and a single air defense missile complex of the enemy during the past day.

The forces and means of Ukraine's air defense destroyed two bomber aircraft – both Su-34 and Su-30.

Rocket units inflicted damage on 2 artillery systems and a command post of Russian aggressors.

Estimated losses of the Russian army according to the results of the past day amount to: 760 occupiers, 19 tanks, 31 combat armored vehicles, 33 artillery systems, 2 MLRS, 2 air defense means, 2 aircraft, 32 tactical drones, 2 cruise missiles, 53 vehicles and 5 units of special equipment.
