To your attention — operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:00 on December 20, 2023 regarding the Russian invasion of our country.

Glory to Ukraine! The six hundred sixty-fifth day of Russia's large-scale military aggression against Ukraine has begun.

The Russian Federation continues to ignore laws and customs of war, uses terrorism tactics, carries out missile and air strikes, and shells both military and numerous civilian objects in our country with multiple rocket launchers.

Over the past day, 87 combat engagements took place. In total, the enemy carried out one missile and 26 air strikes, conducted 87 shelling operations from multiple rocket launchers on positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are casualties among civilians. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

Yesterday, Russian terrorists attacked Ukraine using 17 Shahed-136/131 drones. All enemy drones were destroyed.

Also last night, the enemy carried out another air strike with four Shahed-136/131 attack drones. Three drones were shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces and means.

Air strikes by Russian occupiers hit Synykhivka in Kharkiv Oblast; Novolubivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Over 110 populated areas in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts came under artillery fire from Russian aggressors.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «North», on the Volynian and Polesian directions, the operational situation remains unchanged.

On the Northern and Slobozhanskyi directions, the enemy maintains military presence in border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent our troops from redeploying to threatening sectors, increases mine-explosive barriers along the state border in Belgorod Oblast.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «Khortytsia», on the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy attacks near Synykhivka in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Lyman direction, Ukrainian fighters repelled six enemy attacks around Serbianskyi forest district in Luhansk Oblast and east of Terniv in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian fighters repelled 12 enemy attacks near Bogdanivka, Klyshchyvka, and Andriyivka in Donetsk Oblast. The forces of Ukraine's defense continue to inflict losses on the enemy in manpower and equipment, consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «Tavria», on the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy who does not give up attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our fighters firmly hold their defense, inflicting significant losses on occupiers. Thus, 26 enemy attacks were repelled east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, and Avdiivka as well as nine more south of Severnyi, Pervomaisk, and Nevelskyi in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Marinka direction, forces of defense continue to hold back the enemy in areas around Krasnogorivka, Marinka, and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk Oblast, where 13 enemy attacks were repelled.

On the Shakhtarsk direction, the enemy did not conduct any offensive actions.

On the Zaporizhzhia direction, forces of defense repelled 12 enemy attacks west of Novopokrovka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

At the same time, on the Melitopol direction, our fighters continue to inflict losses on occupation troops through active actions, exhausting the enemy along the entire front line.

In the area of responsibility of the operational-strategic grouping of troops «Odessa», on the Kherson direction, forces of defense continue to take measures to expand their foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Oblast. Despite setbacks, the enemy has not given up its intention to drive Ukrainian troops from occupied positions. Yesterday, Russian occupiers carried out eight assault attacks on our positions. The enemy suffered heavy losses and retreated. Ukrainian fighters are conducting counter-battery fire, inflicting artillery strikes on the rear of the enemy.

Considering the insufficient number of domestically produced ammunition, Russian occupation troops are forced to use low-quality artillery and mortar shells supplied from North Korea. Due to their poor condition, these munitions sometimes explode in the barrels of guns and mortars of occupiers. This leads to losses of weapons and personnel among Russian aggressors. For example, such incidents were recorded in the occupied grouping of troops «Dnipro», commanded by General Teplynskyi.

Over the past day, aviation of Ukraine's defense forces carried out strikes on six areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of Russian occupiers.

Subunits of rocket troops inflicted damage to three areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, a command post, three artillery systems, four ammunition depots of the enemy.

Estimated losses of the enemy over the past day totaled: 890 Russian occupiers, 16 tanks, 23 armored combat vehicles, 16 artillery systems, two multiple rocket launchers, 17 tactical drones, one cruise missile, 29 vehicles and three units of special equipment.
