In honor of the Day of Radio, Television and Communication Workers at the Viktor Bannikov National Technical Center, the third annual MediaCup mini-football tournament among central media outlets took place.

The charitable goal of the event is to raise funds for the construction of a children's sports playground in House of Children No. 1 in Lviv, where orphans from Eastern Ukraine live. Teams participating in the competition included journalists of Ukraine, TV channel "Direct", team "Commentators of Ukraine", FootballHub, "Tribune", combined team Footboom.ua and Football.ua (FIFA), team of Ukrainian comics, and media team FC "Kolos".

After the performance of the Ukrainian anthem by "Voice of Ukraine" contestant Anastasiya Hetman, the participants were greeted by First Vice President of the UAF Vadim Kostyuchenko and tournament organizer Olga Vytak, president of the journalists' team. "Firstly, I am grateful to all teams and each participant for choosing football to celebrate our professional holiday. Thank you for your constant support on the information front in the fight against the aggressor. I am confident that as long as aggression continues, no Russian team will be present at international tournaments held under UEFA and FIFA auspices. Also, thank you for supporting the case against Tymoshchuk. I am grateful for your support of this charitable initiative for children. The winners of the tournament will be them. We will do everything to come to this children's home next year for the opening of a football playground and also hold an interesting tournament there," — noted Vadim Kostyuchenko.

In turn, Olga Vytak also thanked the participants for their support of the charitable initiative and expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian Football Association for assistance in organizing the event.

According to the results of interesting and uncompromising matches in three groups, teams FIFA and "Commentators of Ukraine" advanced to the finals. The outcome of these incredibly intense battles favored the combined team Footboom.ua and Football.ua (FIFA) — 5:3. Bronze medals were won by FootballHub football players who overcame the resistance of the comics' team with a score of 3:0.

In the award ceremony for tournament winners and participants, First Vice President of the UAF Oleg Protasov and Honored Journalist of Ukraine Valentin Shcherbachov took part.

Individual awards at MediaCup-2023 were received by:

best player of the tournament — Vitaliy Misura;

best defender — Oleksandr Puzik;

best forward — Eldar Shulga;

top scorer — Yegor Tarasenko;

tournament joker — Oleksandr Klyuchkov.

The tournament was organized by Information Agency Center of News, Ukrainian Football Association and the team of journalists of Ukraine.
